The garden planting season is around the corner and my clients are eager to see their newly landscaped gardens filled with verdant plants. The landscapers have worked in freezing conditions throughout the winter to build the gardens (hat’s off to them!) and they all look great – just a tad empty.
It is so tempting to plant up a garden as soon as the hard landscaping has been completed but with the conditions we have had this winter it is best to wait for the soil to warm up. The trees and hedging are going in next week, now that the ground is not frozen and the herbaceous plants are all on order. I can’t wait for a bit more warmth – hopefully by the end of the month and then it’s time to plant!
