Coastal family retreat
The Walberswick garden design wraps around the entire house and caters for the needs of the whole family. A large open lawn to the rear of the house is used for games by the teenagers – lush woodland planting frames the lawn on one side, whilst textural blocks of grasses, perennials and clipped yew, the other.
To the front of the house of this garden design, an oak pergola planted with wisteria and clematis defines the edge of the drive. In front of it, a large bed of colourful coastal planting encloses a spacious entertaining area for the parents.
To make a feature of an existing quirky arts and crafts bench, a brick circle and curved raised beds were designed to create a separate secluded seating area. A rustic fire pit set in the middle of the brick circle allows my clients to enjoy the bench, the views of the nearby church and extend their evening entertainment on cooler nights. An attractive custom made cedar clad woodstore is on hand to help fuel the fire.
