Modernist Wildlife
The modernist architecture of my clients’ new home and their love of wildlife inspired this wildlife garden design for their Suffolk garden. To the front, the design of the gravel garden echoes the dimensions of the stunning glass cube entrance hall whilst to the rear of the property, bold, nectar rich borders teeming with bees and butterflies enclose the seating areas and reflect the lines of the building.
A herb and vegetable garden with raised oak beds and a cedar clad greenhouse picks up on the cedar cladding of the house. Whilst a small orchard sown with meadow flowers is starting to establish. Newts, frogs and water boatmen have taken home in the new native planted pond. A simple cedar bridge crosses the pond and reflects the covered cedar walkways of the house in this wildlife garden design.
